Traditional games are increasingly valued as culturally grounded media for fostering social development in elementary physical education. This study investigated the effectiveness of the traditional bakiak game in enhancing the social skills of Grade IV students at MI NW Al-Mujahidin during PJOK lessons. A qualitative descriptive method was employed using a structured observation checklist across multiple sessions involving 20 students selected through total sampling. Observed indicators included communication, peer acceptance, cooperation, conflict management, and self-regulation. The findings showed that most students exhibited observable social behaviors across dimensions, with communication and peer interaction appearing more consistently than conflict management. Scores were predominantly situated within the moderate range, indicating that cooperative play involving synchronized movement and shared goals encourages interpersonal engagement but may be insufficient to develop conflict-resolution skills without targeted facilitation. This study highlights the potential of traditional games, such as bakiak, not only to support social competence but also to contribute to cultural preservation, offering evidence for their structured integration into PJOK learning.
